Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn, born August 19, 1965, is an American actress. She is also an actor and producer. She is most famous for her part as the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. For her portrayal of Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. The seventh season of the show concluded on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also known for her role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, playing Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick won the Golden Globe Award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other roles include Oliver Stone's Born to the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's singles (1992) The Heart and Souls(93), Phenomenon (1996) as well as What's Cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), who was a speech instructor and educational/family therapy therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, an investor in venture capital. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was an Episcopalian and with English descent. Sedgwick is a self-described Jewish and has stated that she is a participant in Passover seders.
